Brooklyn shelter
We got Queen from the Brooklyn Animal Care and Control shelter.
Queen was surrendered there by her previous owner. It was pretty obvious that they were neglecting her, but we don't think she was ever abused. From the first moment, she absolutely stole our hearts.
When we got her, she was very matted and a little underweight. During her first grooming, we filled up one and a half small garbage cans with excess hair.
If anyone is thinking of getting a dog or a cat, I would highly recommend looking at the adoptable animals at the NYC ACC website: New York City Animal Care and Control

First day home
Today we got Queen. She's a female three-year old German Shepherd/Collie mix.
These are the first pictures we have of her, from the day we were blessed with getting her - they were taking right after the initial grooming by Inger.
